Post-Production

dissecting my work

Though we had only filmed the first few episodes at the time, I developed a comprehensive Production Design proposal for the entire series, aiming to establish a cohesive aesthetic from the very beginning.

My main inspiration drew from the Cyberpunk aesthetic, combined with Japanese animation and dystopian illustration styles.

In my concept, I proposed a deliberate use of color: bright neon tones would represent the supernatural and childlike world of the main character, in contrast to the rest of the settings, which would feature muted, cold, and rusty colors to reflect a decaying society.

I also included a proposal for symbolic elements and group identity to be introduced in future episodes (not featured here).

Above all, my favourite part of this project was being deeply hands on with everything: from breaking down the mattress and painting blood stains, rusting the cage, ageing a mattress cover, drilling through a katana, and hand-painting the face mask.

Main sets: Kat's apartment | Murderer's basement Basement flashback

*No set was used "as it was"; though it was a low budget production, I believe in emptying the room and sourcing  everything until every element in frame contributes to the story.
